This is Holly Brooks - and she is a member of Hammond's Regiment
Unfortunately, Holly has been diagnosed with a very rare form of brain tumour, that requires treatment in the USA.
Holly was diagnosed with a brain tumour in June of this year. This was only discovered after she had gone blind in her left eye because of it. She has had 2 operations on this tumour which is situated in the centre of her brain behind the pituitary and hyperthalamus areas. It measures 5.2 x 5.7cms which is quite large for someone who is only 8 years old.
It is a benign tumour but it is still growing and as a result requires Proton beam therapy for which she is being sent to the USA. The treatment will last for 8 weeks, probably extending over the Christmas and New Year holidays. If the growth is not halted it risks the sight in her right eye plus other problems we really don't want to think about.
Although the flights and therapy are being paid for Holly, her Mother and father, they still have the costs of flights for the rest of their family plus the extra accomodation they will need. This of course does not come cheap, and Holly and her family need your help.
