                                                                                                                      Follow in the footsteps of the King's Army!


                                                                                                                      Start by parking at the ROC Post (Royal Observation Corps) just outside Clipston, where a SK Powder Master will issue powder to RCA Holders, and a Musket Officer will supervise 3no. Musket volleys. A specialist guide & author, with interest in the King's Army will be in attendance to describe the scene in 1645. (Alternative arrangements for those without an RCA will be put in hand so that everyone can take part).

                                                                                                                      March on the road towards Moot Hill – a significant point on the way to the battle as a rendezvous. A guide will be on hand to describe the significance of the place in the line of march and also as part of the retreat later in the day.

                                                                                                                      Continue on the road to Sibbertoft – please march through the edge of the village with drums and colours flying announcing the arrival of the King’s Army before the battle. (Sibbertoft Reading Rooms will allow use the toilets approx 200m from route).

                                                                                                                      Leave the road and march on the built up track to Sulby Hedges. A guide will be on hand to show that this is where the battle started Musket Officer will be in attendance to supervise 3no. musket volleys. (If the timings work the Parliamentarian Musketeers should answer from across the battlefield at the Cromwell Monument).

                                                                                                                      Follow your guide along Sulby Hedges to the Parliamentarian lines and along to the Cromwell Monument. A Musket Officer will be in attendance to supervise 3no. musket volleys. A guide will also be stationed here to show the disposition of the Armies on Broadmoor and the significance of the terrain on the outcome of the main engagement. (If the timings work the Parliamentarian Musketeers should answer from across the battlefield at Sulby Hedges).

                                                                                                                      Leave the Cromwell Monument and march on the road back towards Naseby on the line of march of the Royalist Prisoners captured on the battlefield 1645, and rendezvous at Mill Hill. A guide will be stationed here to point out what happened after the battle, and the significance of Naseby in our History. Possible display of latest proposals for Naseby Battlefield Project Visitor Centre. Powder Returns. Driver’s taken back to ROC Point to retrieve cars.
