The Military Committee
The role of the Military Committee is to be concerned with all matters relating to the military performance, presentation, discipline & conduct of the soldiers of this regiment.
Working within Sealed Knot Disciplinary Procedures, the committee will work to continually improve the presentation of Colonel Robert Hammond’s Regiment of Foote. Their role shall consider the following areas, and other issues which may from time to time be asked of them:
The Military Committee shall meet at every Major Muster to review projects in hand, to hear the remonstrances of the individual divisions and to agree a date for the next meeting. However, as the members of this committee are un-elected they have no authority to spend regimental funds. All spending requests must be directed to the Executive Committee (which is elected) for approval. The Chair of the Military Committee (if not already an elected member of the Executive Committee) is granted a place on the Executive Committee for this purpose or in their absence the presentation to the Executive Committee will be made by the Quartermaster, and the Executive Committee’s approval shall be subject to financial prudence, if necessary requesting final approval from the Commanding Officer for the spending of funds.
The Military Committee must present notes of their discussions to the Regiment, and The Military Committee may ask the Regimental Adjutant (or their Clerk) to attend the meeting to take the notes, but they will take no part in any discussions or voting. Votes can only be given in person by those with full voting rights and cannot be given by proxy, or by any other means.
The Commanding Officer will attend the Military Committee by invitation of the Chairman only, and will not vote.
