The Chairman is an important part of the organisation of our Regiment and will work closely with the Commanding Officer to continue to promote the development and quality of non-military activities in the regiment. The position is open to members of the Sealed Knot, Colonel Robert Hammond’s Regiment, and must be over 18 years of age, looking to support Hammond's in the following areas:
The Regimental Chairman will prepare quarterly Reports for posting to members of Colonel Robert Hammond's Regiment of Foote with their copy of England’s Birthright.
- To promote the non-military development of the regiment;
- To work for the efficient administrative performance of the regiment and for providing support to all the members of the Executive Committee in their various roles.
- Calling and chairing regimental meetings including the Annual General Meeting, the Executive Committee, or an Emergency Executive Committee Meeting, in compliance with guidance given in this Constitution document. Regimental Chairman & Commanding Officer must both agree the need to call an Extraordinary General Meeting;
- Coordinating the work of the Executive Committee, ensuring that it meets the brief agreed between the Commanding Officer and the Executive Committee at the beginning of each season.
- Looking after the general welfare of the members of Colonel Robert Hammond’s Regiment, and where possible offering the support of the regiment to its members;
- To be an enthusiastic and lively member of the regiment that can bring humour and good times in equal measure with decorum and gravitas at important moments, especially when supporting the Commanding Officer.
