Regimental Treasurer

Gary Tipping
Gentleman of the Armes

Gary Tipping our Regimental Treasurer
Gary Tipping by John Beardsworth
The Regimental Treasurer is responsible for handling and maintaining accurate records of the Regiment’s funds, the collection of subscriptions for Society and Regimental memberships, and any muster accounts entrusted to the Regiment. For the purposes of VAT Legislation, Regimental bank accounts should not bear any reference to the Sealed Knot Limited. All Regimental and Company Accounts are subject to audit by the Society’s Treasurer, and annual statements of account will be submitted as required. The position is open to members of the Sealed Knot, Colonel Robert Hammond’s Regiment, and must be over 18 years of age (because of banking rules relating to signatures on cheques etc). Other duties expected to be carried out by Hammond’s Treasurer will include the following:

The treasurer is a key member of the Executive Committee, and should be expected to be centrally involved in the duties already described, but also in other activities planned by the Regiment.

Working closely with the Regimental Adjutant ensure collection and record of subscriptions, along with prompt banking of any cheques or cash passed to the Regiment.

The treasurer will collect all regimental monies, and will issue a receipt for all collected. All money collected will be held securely by the Treasurer at a muster and banked at the very earliest opportunity.

Administration of a small number of Regimental Loans to members of the Regiment for the purchase of expensive items of equipment - armour, swords, muskets etc. and the collection of an agreed number of instalments and complete records of the process for inspection by Sealed Knot Auditors in due course.

Maintenance of true and accurate records for any muster account, or other event put on by the regiment.

Be able to advise on Bank Account balances, allowing reflection on potential expenditure to the Executive Committee as requests are presented by either the Commanding Officer, Chairman of the Military Committee or any other source deemed acceptable by the Executive Committee.

The treasurer will prepare quarterly Reports for issue to Colonel Robert Hammonds Regiment of Foote with their copy of England’s Birthright.
